Summary of Industrial Interviews

The choice of studying abroad is not an escape from competition or the pressures of conformism, but rather a desire to engage with a broader platform, learn cutting-edge knowledge, and create new opportunities and challenges. As the application season arrives and I face a crucial turning point in my life journey, it is crucial to consider the future of my academic career and professional development. A multitude of information and questions flood in, leading to inevitable nervousness and anxiety. In order to avoid making uninformed decisions and ensure a well-rounded selection, with the help of my teachers, I have planned and implemented a " Interviews with Experts, Scholars, and Executives " activity centered around my interests in specific disciplines and fields. Through interviews, practical experiences, and research, I hope to gain a deeper understanding of the current development and trends in the relevant fields, acquire the expertise and advice of professionals in those fields, and grasp the knowledge, skills, and experiences I need to accumulate in order to better prepare myself for studying abroad.

The activity mainly takes place from July to September in 2023.

In the early stage

I learned interview skills and social etiquette, as well as gathered commonly used interview questions. Based on my own expertise and interests in specific disciplines, I preliminarily defined the scope of the interviews and set the direction from both academic research and career development perspectives. By utilizing professional databases, the internet, and new media platforms, I extensively collected relevant information about the interviewees, including their backgrounds and expertise, academic research achievements, career development and accomplishments, as well as their interests and hobbies. This also include defining the scope and trends of their respective disciplines and professional fields, as well as the demand and growth paths for personnel in those areas.

In the middle stage

I invited and communicated with the interviewees to confirm the interview time and location. For each interviewee, I refined the interview outline to ensure the coherence and depth of the interviews. During the interview process, I asked targeted questions, took notes, and engaged in smooth and interactive communication with the interviewees to gain insights and experiences. After the interviews, I summarized the key points.

In the later stage

I maintained contact with the interviewees, reviewed and summarized the series of interview activities, and compile them into a collection. Additionally, I shared key interviews on this website, and hope to provide first-hand reference materials for fellow students who are also on their study abroad application journey.
